You may be one of the departments, agencies or projects that work specifically with young people at risk. They may be termed 'disaffected' or 'excluded' and by their nature can be very challenging - so what can we do to help you?
You will already have the soft skills and the motivation to help these young people. You may be examining behaviour and attitudes. Many of you are involved in exploring with your clients the notions of acceptable and non acceptable behaviour. You are probably working towards raising self esteem and introducing them to success.
A lot of this work is done via small group work. You need to get to know your clients or pupils as soon as possible. You want to develop that rapport and build up trust.
You want them to 'gel' and to get to know each other and create a good working atmosphere. Outdoor Activity events and programmes, because they are fun and practical, and throw people together in a positive way, can help and often accelerate many of these processes.

What's available?
Outdoor activities are challenging, fun, great for teamwork, and take everyone out into a fresh environment. As we deal with customers requiring a wide range of outcomes, all our programmes are put together specifically for each group.
Also very popular are our very practical Team Building / Problem Solving sessions based in and around our base at Avonquay. Some groups prefer to have a day's course designed around a more complex event. We can put together an exciting exercise involving teamwork, navigation, radio communication and problem solving.
