School Activities
Services to Schools
Bristol Activities Centre has a long history of successful work with both Primary and Secondary Schools.
Activity Sessions
These are basic instructional sessions with an experienced and qualified Instructor. All specialist equipment is provided. Choose from Caving, Climbing, Abseiling, Canoeing, Kayaking, Orienteering, Mountain Biking and Team Building.

Enrichment/Activity Weeks
For schools planning a programme of activities, particularly for a specific special week, we can provide a wide range of activities either using our standard activity sessions or designing something special for you.

Year 6/7 Transitional Programmes
Making the move from Primary to Secondary Education can be quite an exciting time for many pupils. It can also be quite a shock, particularly when suddenly you find yourself amongst many unfamiliar faces and new systems and routines.

Several Bristol Schools have helped us develop an activity day, designed for each year 7 tutor group, to complete a number of challenges and teamwork/ problem solving exercises. Programmes are based at our Avonquay site and help both staff and pupils to get to know each other better, and learn some basic principles of teamwork, cooperation and problem solving.

Inclusion Work

The Centre specialises in supporting pupils who are either excluded or at risk of exclusion. We start by meeting with you

1) to assess your requirements
2) to form clear achievable goals
3) to develop a programme of possible activities designed to meet your objectives.

Based around our Team Building resource at the Centre, we offer a wide range of challenges that are specifically geared to giving positive, achievable experiences, raising self-esteem, confidence, experiencing success, developing trust, cooperation and communication in a fun and enjoyable manner.

We believe that the outdoor classroom often succeeds where the indoor classroom fails!
